British rapper Scarlxrd is an artist who enthusiastically blurs the lines between hip-hop and metal, creating a sound that's aggressive and intensely exciting. He's got a new album, Infinity, coming March 15th and just dropped a new single, "HEAD GXNE." It comes fresh off the news that the rapper will be joining Bring Me the Horizon on their next round of U.S. dates, which kick off in May. On the track, Scarlxrd inverts his usual formula a bit, by applying metal-sounding vocals to a pretty traditional hip-hop beat, instead of rapping over more metallurgically heavy production. It creates a strange and completely different dynamic, with Scarlxrd sounding like a hardcore vocalist throwing down over a beat fitting of a classic New York MC of yesteryear. He's mad as fuck in his rhymes, taking aim squarely at doubters and former friends who think he's changed with the same venom.
