Hear Rising Death-Metal Stars Gatecreeper's Huge New Song "Boiled Over"

Arizona extremists announce forthcoming album 'Deserted'

Gatecreeper have been blazing their unique brand of Sonoran death metal across the scene since the release of their self-titled EP in 2014. When their debut full-length, Sonoran Deprivation, dropped in 2016 on Relapse Records, they embodied the type of old-school death metal mentality that listeners were craving after decades of the genre fracturing and getting bogged down by technical nerds.

Continuing to bear this torch, Gatecreeper have returned with a new basher, "Boiled Over," the lead single from their upcoming sophomore album, Deserted. A knuckle-dragging pace and thick, atmospheric wall of distortion give way to a desolate guitar line that stands out like a lone traveler amid the arid landscape of the American southwest.

Growling impressively, vocalist Chase Mason once again shows off the breadth of his barbaric skills, pushing the near-depressive cut along in its surprisingly emotional trudge. "With this song, we tried to capture the melodic side of Bolt Thrower mixed with the crushing heaviness and groove of bands like Obituary or Crowbar," the band explained in a joint statement. "There is a confident swagger to the song that any fan of heavy music can enjoy." Indeed.

Deserted is due out October 4th on digital and physical formats and available for pre-order here and here
