Hot off the heels of last year's heavily rotated demo, Richmond, Virginia's Outsider are readying a new EP for Flatspot Records When Love Dies. The new offering features five tracks of scathing hardcore with metallic influences, complete with high-octane thrash sections, dive-bombs and mid-tempo parts built to stomp out the opposition.
The EP opens with "Life Runs Out" — which Revolver is premiering today (June 12th) — a less-than-three minute burner that starts with a groovy mid-tempo riff and moves into a thrash section before heading back again. It's the sort of effort that would fit nicely alongside records by No Warning, Backtrack, Incendiary and more — a song seething with vitriol yet infused with the kind of subtle melodic earworms that will get stuck in your head and have you humming the track long after it's finished.
"Lyrically, the song is about how you can't let procrastination and comfort kill the desire of what your spirit wants," says vocalist Joe Kincaid about "Life Runs Out." "When you don't attempt what you've set out to do, you subconsciously lose faith in yourself. It's pivotal that you always keep trying."
Outsider's When Love Dies EP will hit via Flatspot Records on August 2nd. Preorder your copy here.
