Hear Rising Tech-Metal Act Uncured's Punishing New Song "Terminal"

Young NYC shredders offer up studio version of live fan favorite

New York–based technical death/groove-metal crew Uncured wrote the track "Terminal" to reflect the intensity of their first year on the road as a young band, and the message translated so well with fans that it's now a crowd favorite and served as the show closer on their recent European festival tour. Finalized during their spring run with symphonic black-metal titans Cradle of Filth over the spring, the track's studio version represents the burgeoning group attempt to capture that live energy on record, and paves the path for Uncured's upcoming as-yet-unnamed album, due out in early 2019. The band's teenage vocalist/guitarist Rex Cox says, "When we hit the studio to record 'Terminal', we wanted to capture the excitement and intensity of an Uncured show. We even recorded all of the mosh calls that we use onstage when crowds are going crazy! We are back in the studio now, and our new record is building upon everything you hear in [the track]."

The song comes paired with an action-packed lyric/performance video that even manages to squeeze in guitar tabs for curious heshers. The standalone track is exemplary of the group's outstanding technical skill while also showcasing their ability to let loose and have fun. Nothing here is intimidatingly serious or scary — it's just a group of young guys playing pummeling breakdowns and name-checking themselves while growling about the plague that is man.
