Run the Jewels, a.k.a. the hard-hitting hip-hop duo of El-P and Killer Mike, have shared a rare remix of their Run the Jewels 3 track "Stay Gold" for the Adult Swim Singles Program. Previously exclusive to a limited-edition 12" released back on Record Store Day, the snare-heavy reinterpretation comes courtesy of longtime Killer Mike collaborators Smiff & Cash. It features a guest verse from ex-Three 6 Mafia MC Gangsta Boo, whom the duo tapped for "Love Again," a raunchy highlight off 2015's Run the Jewels 2. Stream the new "Stay Gold" remix below, and snag it on Run the Jewels' website tomorrow (May 31st).
Run the Jewels released Run the Jewels 3 back in December. They made headlines earlier this month when El-P revealed that the duo rejected an offer by the NFL to have their song "Legend Has It" broadcast during this year's Super Bowl.
"We said no because fuck them," the rapper explained via Twitter. "They operate like they're an indispensable public utility. They aren't. They are gone with the flip of a channel." He went on to add: "And just in case anyone is wondering how much the NFL wanted to pay us for using 'Legend Has It,' that would be zero dollars and the strong suggestion that we take them up on the opportunity to enrich a private, racist and for-profit company masquerading as a non profit. Blow me."
