Gender fluid darkwave artist Samantha Glass, the nom de plume of Austin-based musician Beau Deveraux, has released a new song, "The Carpenter in Us All," from the forthcoming LP Nine Memories Between Impression & Imprint. With a sparse synth/drum machine arrangement and a simple keyboard melody providing the cut's backbone, Glass's dark baritone takes front and center, leading the listener through an ominous and haunting underworld. As harrowing as it is beautiful, "The Carpenter in Us All" is essential listening for fans of Cold Cave, Drab Majesty and even John Maus. Check out the new track below for the first time; you can pre-order your copy of Nine Memories Between Impression & Imprint via Holodeck — the boutique record label run by members of synthwave heroes S U R V I V E — ahead of its October 12th release.
