The first posthumous song released from late singer's vault

Scott Weiland loved Christmas enough to record an entire album of holiday standards in 2011, titled The Most Wonderful Time of the Year. Next month, the original 10-song record will be pressed to vinyl for the first time ever, and there're four previously-unreleased bonus cuts making their way onto the tracklist, marking the first posthumous music release from Weiland's vault since his tragic death in 2015.

Today (September 30th), his estate has shared the former Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver singer's take on John Lennon and Yoko Ono's beloved duet, "Happy Xmas (War is Over)." The grunge singer's version of the 1971 classic stays pretty faithful to the original, with just a touch of twang and country-fied sparkle to give it Weiland's own unique touch.

The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year: Deluxe Edition is due out on vinyl October 21st, and the other three unreleased tracks are "lavish studio rehearsal" versions of other songs on the album — "White Christmas," "Winter Wonderland" and "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas."
