Hear SeeYouSpaceCowboy's Fiery New Song "Misinterpreting Constellations"

Sasscore band's new album features Every Time I Die's Keith Buckley and Underoath's Aaron Gillespie

SeeYouSpaceCowboy have a new album on the way. Earlier this year, the San Diego sasscore purveyors released one of the best metalcore splits in recent memory with their buddies in If I Dies First, and now the band fronted by Connie Sgarbossa are dropping their second full-length titled The Romance of Affliction.

The follow-up to their more metalcore-leaning 2019 album The Correlation Between Entrance and Exit Wounds is out in early November, but today they've gifted us with a ferocious lead single called "Misinterpreting Constellations."

When we interviewed SYSC for our Summer 2021 issue, they told us that the new songs would be a return to the more eccentric 'core stylings of their early material, and "Misinterpreting Constellations" proves they weren't lying.

Connie Sgarbossa's yelpy vocal delivery is more present here than it was on their last record, but the song also features cleans from her brother, guitarist Ethan Sgarbossa, which really fill out the choruses that soar between the decimating breakdowns.

Watch the band perform in a fancy living room and play a dramatic game of chess in the music video above via YouTube.

"[The song is] a look back at actions you viewed as a romantic situation and still do to an extent," Sgarbossa said of the track. "But being able to realize that 'love at all cost' maybe wasn't the healthiest thing for yourself, them or others."

Notably, the rest of the record features a handful of guests including Every Time I Die frontman Keith Buckley, Underoath clean singer Aaron Gillespie, rapper SHAOLIN G and their post-hardcore pals in If I Die First.

The Romance of Affliction is out in full on November 5th via Pure Noise Records and is currently available for pre-order. See the artwork and track listing below.
