Hear SHAQ sample DROWNING POOL's "Bodies" in new song "Thotties Hit the Floor"

Basketball superstar Shaquille "Shaq" O'Neal has moonlit as a rapper for decades, having dropped several high-charting albums in the Nineties and dribbled out a litany of singles throughout the 21st century. Today, he's back with a new song called "Thotties Hit the Floor," and in a move no one could've predicted, he chose to sample Drowning Pool's 2001 nu-metal hit "Bodies" in the instrumental.

First off, "Thotties Hit the Floor" is an incredibly fucking funny song title, so props to Shaq for coming up with that in the first place. Second, he actually sounds pretty damn good rapping acrobatically over a modern-sounding trap beat that, in the background, features the chopped-up chorus of "Bodies."

So far, the song is only available as a one-minute TikTok snippet, but the clip Shaq posted features an outlandish music video, so we assume a full song is coming shortly. For now, listen to this amazingly random collision of cultural worlds below.

"Lil Freestyle for y'all," Shaq wrote in the comments. "Never would I have thought DJing would get me here! But when it's your time, it's YOUR TIME. Im beyond grateful. 'Thotties Hit the Floor (MONSTER MASHUP) ft. Me, Lex Bratcher, Scar Lip.'"
