Hear Sheer Mag's Gritty New Power-Pop Anthem "Blood From a Stone"

Find out why Power Trip and Turnstile love this band

Having toured with Power Trip and lent their powerhouse singer, Tina Halladay, to Turnstile (for the song "Moon"), power-pop heavy-hitters Sheer Mag are ready to claim the spotlight for themselves with forthcoming sophomore album, A Distant Call. Produced by Arthur Rizk (Cavalera Conspiracy, Code Orange), the LP takes the group's Seventies hard rock and glam influences, shines them up and brings them to the fore. "We've been waiting to write these songs since we started the band and we were able to take these experiences and build a story out of them," says Halladay.

A concept album of sorts, A Distant Call traces the story of a protagonist who resembles Halladay a few years back, broke, newly single, dealing with her father's death. The narrative kicks off with the album's lead single "Blood From a Stone," which snarls and grooves like a sleek rock hit from another decade. Hear it above, and see A Distant Call's cover art and Sheer Mag's upcoming tour dates below. The album is due August 23rd via Wilsuns RC; you can pre-order it here.
