As influenced by Black Flag as they are Black Sabbath, the Shrine — Venice, California's prevailing purveyors of a sound they call "Psychedelic Violence Rock and Roll" — just dropped a killer new EP, the rollicking four-track Cruel World. The trio, which now includes bassist Corey Parks, best known for her time in Nashville Pussy, self-released the record via its own Eliminator Records.

"We're not gonna say FUCK ALL RECORD LABELS because we've met some good people who are swimming/drowning through the scum of the music industry," the Shrine commented in a Facebook post announcing the EP's release, "but here we present you our very own independent release in which your support truly matters ... from bottom of our hearts thanks for supporting The Shrine through the years and Bless Off!"

You can stream Cruel World via your choice digital streaming service, or via YouTube below. If you prefer your music etched in vinyl, you can snag that at the band's webstore.
