Hear Silent Servant Get Dark on Pulsating New Ambient EBM Song "Loss Response"

Names like Andy Stott, Demdike Stare, Burial, and recent entries by Skee Mask and DJ Healer are all excellent examples of taking sounds from the outer limits of the dance floor and pushing them to new and interesting territories. On the strength of his last LP, 2012's Negative Fascination, L.A.-based producer Silent Servant, aka Juan Mendez, helped move the needle with darkly beautiful beats made for headphones and the dance floor alike, creating a recent underground classic that history will smile upon favorably. 

And while Mendez has steadily delivered singles and collaborations in the years since, fans of everything from noise to synthpop to experimental music and all stops in between have been clamoring for a new full-length effort. That new album — Shadows of Death and Desire — hits on December 7th via Hospital Productions.

Revolver is proud to premiere "Loss Response," the latest track from Mendez's certifiable onslaught of excellent songwriting. Though darkly pensive and ambient at its core, "Loss Response" is propelled by metallic drum hits of the most creative sort, allowing the slowly shifting serenity of the synths to swell and back off in waves. It's calming and uneasy, aggressive yet accommodating, but most of all highly recommended.

Silent Servant will join several luminaries from the noise genre and beyond for the Hospital Fest at Knockdown Center in Queens on December 8, 2018. Tickets are still available for the fest which will feature a Power Trip / Prurient collab, Merzbow, Jesu, Kelly Moran, Final and much more.
