Los Angeles' Silver Snakes are gearing up to release a new EP, Scathe, tomorrow (October 20th) via Evil Ink Records. The five-track release — a bridger of sorts between last year's album Saboteur and its forthcoming follow-up, due out tentatively next year — comprises a previously unheard ripper called "Follow Your Lead," a remixed version of Saboteur's "Charmer," and covers of songs by Garbage, Duran Duran and Ministry. Today, Revolver's premiering Silver Snakes' gothed-out rendition of Ministry's vicious breakout single "Burning Inside," which originally appeared on the Chicago band's 1989 album, The Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Taste. Listen now, and compare it alongside the 1989 original.

Silver Snakes vocalist Alex Estrada considers the track's inclusion on the new EP a no-brainer. "The idea to cover Ministry came early on," he explains. "'Burning Inside' seemed like a perfect, chaotic song we could pull off as a cover – but when it came down to it, the music lent itself to a change of pace in our writing style. We slowed it down, and piled on layer after layer of filth and desperation."
