Hear Simulakra's Face-Smashing New Hardcore Banger "Fading Away"

Delaware band features members of Wristmeetrazor, Gridiron, Foreign Hands

If you've been keeping your ear to the heavy hardcore underground in recent years, then the name Simulakra probably rings a bell. The Delaware band are comprised of several busy musicians who spread their time between this and other esteemed groups like Gridiron, Wristmeetrazor and Foreign Hands, and after dropping a couple great seven-inches, Simulakra are now gearing up to unveil their debut album later this spring. Titled The Infection Spreads, it's due out May 24th via DAZE Records (Pain of Truth, Queensway, Sanction) and today (April 21st) we're stoked to be premiering its face-mauling lead single, "Fading Away."

To put it simply, this band is incredibly heavy, channeling the dark, muscular, chuggy sound of bands like Jesus Piece, Judiciary and Division of Mind. "Fading Away" doesn't offer any catchy hooks or brief reprieves of grace during its quick two-minutes, it just comes in ready to swing fists and leaves with the room torn to shreds. Listen above via YouTube while you watch the band thrash around in a small room.

"This track is about a deceased person that's living in a constant replay of their past existence," vocalist Dom Pabon said. "I wanted to write a song that reminds myself to not live in the past but more-so the moment." As for the video: "We wanted to create something that feels like it's out of a nightmare."

The Infection Spreads is once again out May 24th, and pre-orders are available here. Peep the album art below.
