Hear T-PAIN's funky, soulful cover of BLACK SABBATH's "War Pigs"

Auto-tune pioneer puts very different spin on metal classic

Last month, rapper-singer T-Pain — who pioneered the use of auto-tune in pop and rap music throughout the late 2000s — announced that he was releasing a covers album that aimed to showcase "the power of his natural voice." Some of the artists he chose to interpret were Sam Cooke, Journey, Chris Stapleton, Frank Sinatra and — wait, what?? — Black Sabbath!

Yes, the Masked Singer winner recorded his very own version of Paranoid standout "War Pigs," and today (March 17th) we finally get to hear it.

As teased by the initial press announcement, there's no auto-tune to be found on T-Pain's version of the metal staple. Instead, it's a soulful, jammy and downright funky take on a song that sounds the very fucking different in Black Sabbath's hands. It's definitely out there, but we're glad that it exists.
