Hear TesseracT and Eths Members Rage in New Hardcore Supergroup Cage Fight

James Monteith and Rachel Aspe join forces on "Hope Castrated"

TesseracT guitarist James Monteith and former Eths vocalist Rachel Aspe have formed a new band called Cage Fight, and it sounds nothing like any of their other projects. Unlike the prog wizardry of TesseracT and the hellish groove metal of the now-defunct Eths, the new group's debut single, "Hope Castrated," is a furious blend of death metal and hardcore. This is mosh pit music.

Aspe commented, "This project is musically packed full of visceral rage, but there's also an underlying message of positivity and unity. I can't wait to take these songs to the stage later in 2021 — be ready!"

With a lineup that's rounded out by Broken Chakra bassist Jon Reid and Corpsing drummer Nick Plews, Cage Fight have an eclectic melange of influences that come together seamlessly on the fine-tuned heaviness of "Hope Castrated." Aspe's searing death-metal vocals flambe atop hulking metallic hardcore instrumentals in a way that calls back to groups like Hatebreed, All Out War and 100 Demons, but also sounds fresh rather than redundant. Blast the song above via YouTube.
