Tetrarch's highly-anticipated new album, Unstable, will finally arrive in full later this week, but the nu-metal torchbearers have decided to give us one final sneak peak. After three singles that run the gamut from Slipknot-like fury to Linkin Park-esque emotionality, the L.A.-based band got groovy for this bouncy new cut, "Addicted."
Frontman Josh Fore has proven himself a versatile vocalist who can confidently switch between approaches, and here he employs a bit of a David Draiman flow during the verses while drawing out his melodic inflections during the hook. Meanwhile, the drums are pounding, the low-end is shattering and the guitar leads are eerie as hell. "'Addicted' is a song about being consumed by something in life that to the outside eye may appear detrimental or dangerous," Fore said in a statement. "Even as our world may be spiraling away from us into chaos there's something that draws us towards our obsessions. 'Now I can see that the joke is on me' is that moment of self-awareness: that we cannot escape who we are and that we are stuck in our own addictions."
