Texas prog-metal troublemakers Polyphia are putting their insane millennial shred to good purpose with the release of their new track "Inferno." The cut appears on a new compilation curated by music critic Anthony Fantano of the review site The Needle Drop, and will benefit the nonprofit organization, The Immigrant Legal Resource Center.
"'Inferno' is one of Polyphia's grandest shred fests, and comes at you faster than a Guitar Hero speedrun," says Fantano.
The 15-track album, titled The Needle Drop, features a host of critically lauded artists, including Zeal & Ardor, XIU XIU, Kult Krimes, Oxbow and Street Sects. Proceeds from the $25 album will be donated to The Immigrant Legal Resource Center, a national nonprofit that "works with immigrants, community organizations, legal professionals, and policy makers to build a democratic society that values diversity and the rights of all people. Through actions such as community education programs, legal training, technical assistance, and policy, development, and advocacy, the organization hopes to help immigrants and their families receive the fair treatment they deserve upon entering the country."
The Needle Drop compilation is currently available for pre-order at this location, with the final copies expected to ship out on or around November 8th. Hear Polyphia's contribution, and see the album's track listing, below.
