Hear Tombs Face the Chaos of the Universe on Crushing New Song "The Dark Rift"

Post-black-metal stalwarts offer second single off coming 'Monarchy of Shadows' EP

On February 28th, Brooklyn post-black-metal outfit Tombs are set to release the new six-track EP Monarchy of Shadows, which main man Mike Hill has described as the band's best work to date. Late last year, the group, which also features three-fourths of New Jersey death-metal crew Kalopsia, unleashed the record's crushing, dynamic lead single and title cut; today (January 15th), Tombs have returned with "The Dark Rift," which, like its predecessor, is "ferocious, brutal, but with an intense introspection," in Hill's words.

"Logic exists in a vacuum," he says cryptically of the song. "The universe is ruled chaos."

Monarchy of Shadows is available now for pre-order. The band will celebrate its release with a show in Long Branch, New Jersey, followed by an appearance in Staten Island — see details below. In addition to leading Tombs, Hill is also the CEO and roast master at Savage Gold Coffee, the host and producer of numerous podcasts, and a sometime contributor to Revolver.

Tombs live dates:
2/28: Long Branch, NJ @ Brighton Bar (record release show)
3/20: Staten Island, NY @ Mother Pugs **No advanced tix, walk up only**
