Hear Toothless Channel ETID, Dillinger on Gritty New Song "Grinner"

Tallah's Justin Bonitz guests on ferocious single

Smash together the swaggering hardcore confrontation of Every Time I Die and the Chariot and add a dose of the Dillinger Escape Plan's time-signature-torturing insanity, and what do you get? Toothless, for one. The rising chaotic metal group based out of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, are gearing up to release their third EP, Misinformed, on May 5th. But today, the quartet has teamed up with Revolver to share their new song "Grinner" — which features a guest shot by Tallah's Justin Bonitz — and its accompanying music video. Watch and listen it above.

"[It's] a tense and chaotic song, which inspired me to match that feeling, lyrically," vocalist Travis Antoniello says of "Grinner." "The vision in my head was somebody living a double life and being torn apart by the decisions they were forced to make. There are moments of being deceptive, but also this strong inner conflict with themselves, and ultimately, helplessness and bitterness.

"Justin Bonitz was excited to feature on the song, which made me pretty happy. Justin is easily one of the most talented and dynamic vocalists that I know, and I was excited for him to add his own flair to the track.

"Unfortunately, we had to cut filming short for the music video due to the pandemic, but we all agreed that the performance footage captured these emotions well and that it could stand well on its own. I think director Alex Manganella did such a great job portraying the chaotic and tense emotions through his shots and his editing."

According to the band, the new EP — which was produced, engineered and mixed by Greg Thomas and Christ Teti at Silver Bullet Studios, and mastered by Bill Henderson at Azimuth Mastering — focuses on society's obsession with anti-intellectualism and the weaponizing of disinformation in the modern age.
