One of the most unique rising artists in the heavy music landscape is Banshee, a singer/producer/multi-instrumentalist who blends elements of trap, witch house and extreme metal into an exciting brew of forward-thinking brutality. Last month, the Artist You Need to Know dropped her long-awaited new project, Fairy Metal, but she was apparently keeping busy outside of her solo work as well.

Today (July 27th), we're stoked to premiere a song called "The Blood of the Heartless (Detritus)" that she was asked to guest on by My Heart, An Inverted Flame, a San Francisco-based experimental doom duo helmed by drummer Andee Conners (Aquarius Records, A Minor Forest) and synth player Marc Kate.

The seven-minute track begins with several minutes of lurching doominess before the musical tides part for Banshee's shrieking entrance. Her vocals gnash and scald over the creeping drums and noisy synth atmospheres, sending shivers up the spine as the song continues to build into a churning, smoldering heap of hellish goodness.

Listen below via Bandamp and pre-order a limited-edition lathe cut picture disc of the song right here.
