Floridian metal veterans Trivium have unleashed a new song, the emotive, riff-packed "Catastrophist," the lead single off the group's forthcoming ninth album, What the Dead Men Say. The follow-up to 2017's The Sin and the Sentence, the 10-track LP is due for release April 24th via Roadrunner Records. "Catastrophist" comes with a gripping horror-movie-style music video that follows an unnamed heroine as she struggles to escape a very trying situation in the woods while the band — singer-guitarist Matt Heafy, guitarist Corey Beaulieu, bassist Paolo Gregoletto and drummer Alex Bent — view the action from the comfort of a leather couch. "What the Dead Men Say is everything that is Trivium," Heafy enthused of the new LP. "On this album, one can hear the proper ingredients of past, present, and future Trivium. The Trivium sound is having everything the band does — on one album."
Beaulieu commented, "We wanted to build on the foundation that we established with the last album. The record has all the elements that are Trivium — along with all of us wanting to keep pushing ourselves creatively. This led to a highly-inspired and fast-paced writing and recording process that really captures the energy of the band."
