Hear UNDEROATH embrace classic sound on new song "Let Go"

Right in the metalcore band's heavy-catchy sweet spot

It's been just over a year since Underoath dropped their latest album, Voyeurist, in which the metalcore laureates re-embraced their heavy side after 2018's highly melodic Erase Me. It seems like the aggression is here to stay. Today (March 3rd), Underoath have dropped a new standalone single called "Let Go," marking their first material on new label home MNRK Heavy.

Like many of the songs on Voyeurist, it sees the band nestling into their sweet spot of convulsive screamed verses and anthemic clean choruses — and with a little layer of electronic fuckery slathered on top for good measure. Blast it above via YouTube.

"This is actually the first song we completed after recording Voyeurist," the band said in a statement."It took a few different forms but we got it to a place where we knew this is what it should be. It's about letting go of whatever trauma or demons that might be holding you back. As hard as it is to make those decisions sometimes, I feel like we can never grow without stepping out of those toxic environments."

Tonight, Underoath kick off their U.S. headlining tour with Periphery and Loathe — see the dates here.
