Hear Unearthly Trance Unleash Doom Thunder With New Song "Mechanism Error"

NYC trio's split with Primitive Man reveals another dose of signature misanthropy

After a thankfully short break, the trio of Darren Verni, Jay Newman and Ryan Lipynsky — a.k.a. Unearthly Trance — came roaring back last year with a new LP, Stalking the Ghost. Much like previous releases, the output was eclectic, but was primarily doom-oriented and within the lanes of their previous (and previously massive) output. Now, here to assure you that their break was all just a bad dream, the NYC group has teamed with Primitive Man to deliver a mega-split — seven new tracks on a single 12-inch due via Relapse on August 17th (you can order yours here).

On such track is "Mechanism Error," which swings and smashes with the established fury of Unearthly Trance. As with Stalking the Ghost, it's very much in the corner of their other works, offering a dramatic "space, then smash" approach of riffy pummel with plenty of room to let those nasty riffs breathe. Stream it for the first time above.
