Hear Upchuck's Psychy, Doomy Hardcore Blitz "In Your Mind"

Upchuck are a rising Atlanta band who could reasonably appeal to any type of hardcore fan. The eponymous A-side from their forthcoming seven-inch recalls the kooky noise-core that bands like Bib and Gel have popularized in recent years, and they recently toured with the fuzzy garage-punk group, the Paranoyds. 

However, their newest single, "In Your Mind," which we're stoked to be premiering today, features fast parts that your average Black Flag lover could get down with and straight-up doom-metal sections for the folks who rock Discharge and Candlemass shirts on different days of the same week. 

Vocalist KT has a unique delivery that jostles between biting and infectious, while the instrumentation beneath her is gnarled and lo-fi but extremely tight the whole way through. "In Your Mind" is a five-minute hardcore song, but it earns its length with multiple breakdowns, psychy guitar chords and an insanely shreddy solo at the end of it all. Listen below via Bandcamp.
