Hear VEIL OF MAYA's brutal single from first album in 6 years

Chicago metalcore band's '[m]other' out this spring

Veil of Maya are finally releasing another album. The band have announced their first record in six years, [m]other, which is due for release later this spring. With this news, the Chicago metalcore powerhouse have dropped "Red Fur," the third single from the record, complete with a wild, post-apocalyptic video. Check it out above via YouTube.

According to the group's guitarist and songwriter Marc Okubo, the influence behind "Red Fur" came from a pretty surprising place. "I got convinced to go to a Rufus Du Sol concert," he said in a statement. "I was immediately inspired though. The next day, I was like, 'Let's combine some of this with our style'. That explains the electronic opening."

As for the album as a whole, frontman Lukas Maygar said, "This record is a collection of personal experience, history and a touch of my own imagination. I enjoyed approaching each song in a different way this time around. It was certainly challenging at times to find the right mood but when the work was finally complete it seemed to come together very well. I'm thrilled to see how our fans respond!"

[m]other is due out May 12th via Sumerian Records and is available for pre-order now.
