Hear We're Wolves' Sleek Cover of Avenged Sevenfold's "Unholy Confessions"

Rising metalcore group enlist Fame on Fire's Bryan Kusnitz for fresh take on A7X classic

We're Wolves are a Florida metalcore band who've already racked up a significant following despite not releasing a full-length album of their own yet. They have a few singles of their own out in the world, but the band are currently most known for their well-liked covers by bands like Limp Bizkit, Disturbed, Slipknot, Atreyu, Drowning Pool and more.

Today (August 12th), the group are adding another great rendition to the stack by unveiling their version of Avenged Sevenfold's beloved 2004 banger, "Unholy Confessions," which we're premiering above.

For this one, We're Wolves enlisted Fame on Fire frontman Bryan Kusnitz to aid them on vocals, who previously joined the band on their 2018 single, "Dissonance." Their take on the most popular song from A7X's Waking the Fallen stays pretty faithful to the original without ever sounding like a bland regurgitation.

For one, Kusnitz and We're Wolves frontman AJ Diaferio have more soulful singing voices than M. Shadows, which gives the chorus more are more modern post-hardcore touch. Instrumentally, there's just  a little more reverb on the drums and slightly chunkier, down-tuned guitar tones, giving the breakdowns a djenty bounce that's fit for the present-day.

"We've always been influenced by early 2000's era music," We're Wolves commented. "'Unholy Confessions' seemed like the perfect choice for our band, as we are huge A7X fans. We teamed up with an equally huge A7X fan, Bryan Kuznitz of Fame on Fire, to turn this song up to 11.

"In working with Bryan in the past on songs like 'Dissonance' and our cover of Atreyu's 'Right Side Of The Bed,'" they continued, "We knew he'd be perfect for this cover. We hope all the A7X fans enjoy it as much as we enjoyed creating it."

We're Wolves are set to release their full-length debut, Evil Things, later this year, and so far they've confirmed that it boasts a features from Kusnitz and Ice Nine Kills frontman Spencer Charnas. Stay tuned for more details.
