Hear Yashira Channel Mastodon, Dying Fetus, Botch on Chaotic New Song

Florida post-everything crew dazzle and destroy with "Redact (Flood)"

With a burly, chaotic approach reminiscent of early Mastodon, Today Is the Day or Yautja, Yashira's approach is utterly unpredictable — creating a swirling maelstrom of riffs that shifts and reforms under relentless drum blasts. The young Floridian band can be as beatdown-centric as Dying Fetus, yet open themselves up to Neurosisesque wide lanes for a display of post-metal dynamics. Their latest offering — and the first single from their forthcoming Good Fight debut, Shrine — is "Redact (Flood)," a well-crafted piece of metallic hardcore that betrays a wholly unique approach.

The Cameron Nunez-directed video for "Redact (Flood)" is good, too — damn good — and available above for the first time. "This is some of the most aggressive material we've written," the band commented in a statement, "and we feel the visual ideas Cameron brought to the table really accentuate the mood of the song."

Shrine is set for release on April 13th. You can pre-order it here.

"Redact (Flood)" lyrics:

Indigent spurn wayward
Ructious aisle befall
Virus froth and dissipate
Heed the call

The rabid dog settles for nothing before the feed
We'll shun the warnings
In isolated awareness
Stripped of what remains

No choice, surrender
A hidden disease or strange relief
In the blood it grows
Through friction of time

Objection hidden in rapture
The untruths flood

Fading essence of foresight
Abysm overflown

Dissonance prone to ignite
Against the forgone breed of conceit

Feral tongues chained to error
Purpose driven refusal

Compromise the core
Shameful visions
Reflecting in eyes of fire
Feral tongues chained to error

Bother with care

Embalming rampant contention
The untruths pour down
Derelict horde devout

Fading essence of foresight
Abysm overflown
Dissonance prone to ignite
Against the forgone breed of conceit
