Late last year, Heavens Blade — the gnarly supergroup featuring Youth Code singer Sara Taylor, Rob Zombie bassist Piggy D. (on guitar), former Marilyn Manson bassist Fred Sablan and Suicide Silence drummer Alex Lopez — dropped its first-ever song, the nasty and raw ripper "Spoiled Rotten." Taylor described the project to us at the time as "a shit-kicker punk band" specializing in "ass-beater riffs," and the 2018 single lived up to that billing.

Today (October 14th), the band resurfaced with a surprise self-titled demo EP packed with five short, sharp shocks — "Ledger of Truth," Throwing Flowers," "Vascular Illusion," "Reptiles" and "Concrete Rope" — each coming in under the three-minute mark, many significantly so. Blast the demo below.

We should be hearing more from three-fourths of the Heavens Blade lineup shortly. Youth Code are reportedly working on a new album, the follow-up to 2016's critically acclaimed Commitment to Complications. Lopex's band, meanwhile, just completed its next full-length, due out in 2020, when Piggy D.'s latest record with Zombie is also expected.
