The HU: See Mongolian Folk-Metal Act's Amazing "Yuve Yuve Yu" Studio Performance

Viral stars mix throat singing, traditional instruments in intimate live setting

Currently in the middle of an enormous tour that will see them through the western part of the U.S. before hitting Europe, Australia, New Zealand, South America and more, The HU still managed to sit down in Loudwire's studio recently to deliver an intimate, close-up performance of their stunning track "Yuve Yuve Yu." Taken from their recent full-length record The Gereg, the song was released with a wild music video in fall 2018 (watch that below) that traversed a multitude of landscapes and themes, eventually gaining over 31 million views on YouTube and establishing The HU as an up-and-coming force to reckon with.

In this stripped-down setting, however, the musicianship of the group's four members is on raw display. Combining traditional Mongolian instrumentation with their chorus of unique, entrancing vocals (listen for the incredible throat singing), their hypnotic three-minute performance feels both longer than its true run time and all-too brief as well. Sure their tremendously epic video adventures and stage presence mesh perfectly with the enormity their sound can reach, but the nuances of their instruments stand tall and stark in the relaxed atmosphere of the small space.

Catch The HU on their current tour stretching now through June 20, 2020, where they will grace the audience at France's Hellfest with their singular appearance. Find the full run-down of dates here
