As I Lay Dying Debut New Song "Redefined" Featuring August Burns Red Singer

Metalcore stalwarts offer up second single since Tim Lambesis' release from prison in 2016

As I Lay Dying's re-formation and reunion with singer Tim Lambesis has been a polarizing topic within the metal and hardcore world, but the metalcore stalwarts continue to forge on. In case you haven't been keeping up on the story, in 2014, Lambesis pled guilty to attempting to hire an undercover cop posing as a hit man to kill his wife, Meggan Lambesis. The singer was released on parole in December 2016 — after serving less than half of the six-year sentence handed down by the California jury — and issued a public written apology for the plot last year. Then in June 2018, many were shocked when AILD announced that Lambesis had rejoined his former bandmates — Josh Gilbert, Jordan Mancino, Phil Sgrosso, Nick Hipa and Josh Gilbert — had resurrected As I Lay Dying. At the time, the re-formed band offered up their first new song and video since 2012, "My Own Grave," and began playing shows together.

Now, As I Lay Dying are back with another new song, "Redefined," which features guest vocals by August Burns Red's Jake Luhrs. Lambesis revealed the cameo in an Instagram post in which he thanked Luhrs for appearing: "He is a true pro with incredible range!" You can check out the new song, as well as its stark, gloomy music video, above.
