Ides of Gemini Premiere New Song and Music Video, "Heroine's Descent"

"I also wanted to combine a mundane experience with a ritual experience to weave modern and ancient or symbolic planes together."
Ides of Gemini—which features Revolver scribe J. Bennett—will release their new album, 'Women,' on April 28 via Rise Above Records. In anticipation, the band has teamed up with Revolver to premiere their new song and music video, "Heroine's Descent." Check it out below and let us know what you think in the comments!

Vocalist (who also directed the clip) Sera Timms said, "Around the time of writing the treatment for the video I had recently discovered and fallen in love with a local mausoleum built in the '20s, full of marble and stained glass. I also wanted to combine a mundane experience with a ritual experience to weave modern and ancient or symbolic planes together.

"The woman I got to play the character of 'The Maiden' is our drummer's girlfriend, Lindsay. And the Director of Photography is our friend Brian Sowell, who also plays in the band Buried at Sea. While filming we discovered that the largest urn on the central stairway belonged to Sarah Lindsay, and the largest tomb belonged to the architect, who had the last name Bryan. So me, my actress and DP were symbolically already housed in this mausoleum. As usual, we had to shoot guerilla style (without proper permits due to astronomical Los Angeles location fees) which was very challenging, but the synchronistic alignments always remind me that there is a design above the status quo which always supports the artist, the rebel and the outsider."
