'JACKASS' star STEVE-O: Why DIO's 'Holy Diver' is most underrated album ever

"It's a real shame Ronnie James Dio never had the global domination Ozzy did"

Steve-O is one of several lifelong metalheads in the Jackass crew, and he was recently asked by Metal Hammer to talk about a handful of records that changed his life — so naturally, some heavy-ass albums were mentioned.

One of those was Dio's 1983 power-metal gem, Holy Diver, which Steve-O picked when he was asked to name the most underrated album of all time. It's an interesting choice for that title, but Steve-O makes a good case for it below.

"This one is easy for me, dude," Steve-O remarked. "That entire album is a fucking masterpiece from front to back. I think it's a real shame that Ronnie James Dio never had the global domination that Ozzy did.

"Blizzard Of Ozz was a fucking greatest hits album in its own right — there's no taking that away from Ozzy — but I would argue that Holy Diver was every bit as much of a masterpiece."
