Killswitch Engage are currently hard at work on their eighth full-length album, expected out sometime this year. It appears that the metal stalwarts' latest will feature a collaboration with former singer Howard Jones. Last night, April 12th, KsE vocalist Jesse Leach shared a photo of himself, Jones and guitarist/producer Adam Dutkiewicz posing in the studio, going on to reveal that the two singers had recorded a duet. The session took place just over a month after the estranged frontmen reconnected as friends.
"This dude was in the neighborhood, so I figured hey, let's get him to lay down some stuff for a thing," Leach revealed in the caption. "He did, and it is going to be EPIC!" In a following Instagram post, the singer showed himself lip-syncing along to Jones' live vocals, and revealed that "the song was in fact written with Howard in mind and our connection through our similar mental illnesses." "Today was epic," he enthuses in the caption. "It was HUGE for the legacy of Killswitch."
Following his exit from Killswitch Engage in 2012, Jones has focused his creative endeavors on his metalcore band Light the Torch (formerly known as Devil You Know). The outfit's latest album, Revival, came out late last month. He also made a recent appearance in a dramatic music video for "Chasing Demons," his collaboration with Hatebreed's Jamey Jasta taken from the latter's most recent solo effort, The Lost Chapters EP, which was released last year.
