Korn's landmark self-titled debut turned 25 on October 11th, and the band released its triumphant new album, The Nothing, in September, so we visited vocalist Jonathan Davis at his home studio for a harrowing yet inspirational new cover story in which he reflects on the dark early days of the band and his current creative path out of fresh tragedy. "The cards I've been dealt are pretty fucking intense. I've just got to be honest and deal with them and I'll get through it," says the singer, who channeled his sorrow over the recent death of his wife, Deven, into The Nothing. "But everybody's got to go through their own trials and tribulations. If I could ever go back in time and tell that 24-year-old me to just deal with what you're going through — just deal with it — it would have saved me a lot of grief."
The Korn issue comes in two collectible editions: a newsstand/subscriber cover version, which will hit stands on October 22nd, and a special box set featuring exclusive covers packaged in a deluxe hardcover case. Both feature original photography by Nick Fancher, an Ohio-based photographer and educator who has worked with hundreds of artists including Ghost, Underoath and Chelsea Wolfe.

The deluxe hardcover collector's case features an additional exclusive photograph of Davis that nods to the iconic cover image of Korn's 1994 debut.
