It's been over a year since Korn bassist Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu announced that he was taking a hiatus from the band to work on some personal issues that caused him to return to some of his "bad habits." Since he stepped away prior to the band's 2021 summer tour, Suicidal Tendencies bassist Ra Diaz has been playing live with Korn ever since, but now his bandmates have shared that they're planning to check in with him after their current tour and reassess Fieldy's position away from the band.
In a new interview with Kerrang! Radio (as transcribed by Blabbermouth), guitarist Brian "Head" Welch said that once the band return from their current European run, they're going to be meeting up with Fieldy to see "where his head is at."
"We've been in contact with him," Welch said. "I just e-mailed him the other day. So we're gonna get together and talk to him, see how he's doing, see where his head is at, after this tour. Me and Munk [guitarist James 'Munky' Shaffer] were just talking about it. We love him, we've been in communication with him, and we'll see."
Since Welch was vague about the timeline, it's unclear if they'll be considering the possibility of Fieldy rejoining Korn for their late summer tour with Evanescence, but it seems like we should know more about the situation in the not-too-distant future.
