Kyle Pavone, singer and keyboardist for Michigan metalcore act We Came as Romans, has died. Pavone was 28. Details have yet to been released on the cause of death, but the band issued the following statement via social media:
"Today, music lost another great with the passing of Kyle Pavone of We Came as Romans. Kyle's tragic loss came too early in his life and those of his bandmates. All are devastated by his passing. We will miss his smiles, his sincerity, his concern for others, and his impressive musical talent. In lieu of flowers, we will provide information regarding charity donations this coming week. The family and the band wish to thank their fans and the music community for all of their love and support as they navigate their grief."
Earlier this August, Pavone tweeted the lyrics, "Will i be remembered or will i be lost in loving eyes," from "Promise Me" off of We Came as Romans' most recent album Cold Like War. The band also included these lyrics along with their statement of Pavone's passing.
Pavone joined We Came as Romans in 2008, as clean vocalist and keyboardist, ahead of their 2009 debut record To Plant a Seed. The musician appeared on each of the melodic metalcore act's subsequent studio albums: Understanding What We've Grown to Be (2011), Tracing Back Roots (2013), We Came As Romans (2015) and last year's Cold Like War.
We Came as Romans took to social media to share remembrances of Pavone.
Drummer David Puckett posted the following message on Twitter: "None of us were ready to say goodbye. But I know that Kyle is happy right now, because the entire world cane [sic] together with the unfortunate news. Tens of thousands of people all over the world supporting one another, encouraging each other, And sharing stories together. Kyle loved bringing people together, however he could- whether that was by being on stage, or by being he most ridiculous person in a room making everyone laugh. He loved creating moments for everyone to share, and he Would be ecstatic to see us all supporting each other like the big family that we are. Thank you to everyone who has been reaching out to us & sharing your stories with us. Love you all."
Guitarist Joshua Moore shared the following candid photograph on Instagram, writing: "I love this picture so much because it shows you how I'll always remember you. The craziest, goofiest, most funny and lovable kid. I miss you so much."
