Considering the wide-ranging sound of his various projects — from Blood Has Been Shed to Killswitch Engage to Light the Torch and beyond — it should come as no surprise to fans how diverse Howard Jone's musical tastes are. The vocalist has been shaped by all kinds of tunes over his lifetime and career — from Alice in Chains' grunge-sludge to Stryper's "yellow and black attack." Count among that list the wonderful weird funk-metal of Faith No More. When we talked to Jones about the albums that are "always in rotation" for him, he included the band's all-time classic Angel Dust among his picks. Below are his thoughts on why it rules.
"Every song is different. Every song has its own kind of impact, and it's just all over the place. It's organized chaos. Everything was hitting on all cylinders. It's an album you just keep revisiting. There's a lot of standouts, so it's kind of hard for me to pinpoint just one [song]. But if I had to, right now, I'd just randomly choose 'A Small Victory.' But the whole album is unexplainably good and just easy to listen to, day in and day out."
