While System of a Down have become, for all intents and purposes, a live band that will likely never record new material again, the band's members have kept busy with their own projects. Singer Serj Tankian has made his name as a solo artist, a score composer and coffee company honcho; guitarist Daron Malakian has Scars on Broadway; bassist Shavo Odadjian recently launched his cannabis lifestyle brand 22Red; and now drummer John Dolmayan has revealed imminent plans to release the debut album from his long-rumored project These Grey Man.

The record — which Dolmayan has previously described as a covers record featuring genre-spanning takes on songs by Outkast Radiohead and David Bowie — will drop sometime over the next four months, according the drummer in a new interview with SOAD Mexico. "I'm still working on it," he said, as reported by Blabbermouth. "All the songs are finished, but we're in the process of adding strings… And then, we're actually starting to mix some of the songs that have already been done. And there's some cool artists on it. Serj sang two songs, and the Avenged Sevenfold singer, Matt, he sang a song. And then I have a bunch of other friends that came. Tom Morello played guitar on a song.

"So, I know it's been forever, but it will be released. I also had two kids between it, so when I had my kids, I stopped doing everything else and just concentrated on being a father. So, it takes time, but hopefully people will enjoy it." Watch the full interview below.
