The decade-plus wait for Tool's new album just got a bit longer. While engaging with fans on Twitter recently, frontman Maynard James Keenan wrote off rumors regarding a potential summer release date for the band's hotly-anticipated 10,000 Days follow-up as "horseshit."

The singer also challenged a fan's assertions that Keenan had promised new albums from both Tool and A Perfect Circle, responding that he "Only said New APC." He hammered his point home further down in the thread, stating definitively: "Not. Coming out this summer. Not."

As for those mysterious in-studio photos showing Keenan's Tool bandmates hanging out in the studio – and Tom Morello's assertions that he's heard the record – Maynard insists that "Nothing. Is. Tracked" (his emphases, not ours).

Fortunately, Keenan's tough love isn't without a silver lining. According to the singer, A Perfect Circle have big news coming next week.

Below, watch Maynard James Keenan demonstrate some of the fighting techniques that earned him his purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and elaborate on how his lifelong affinity for combat sports is connected with his larger vision of sustainable living, self-sufficiency and creativity.
