Megadeth "We'll Be Back": Read Violent Lyrics to Long-Awaited New Song

The battle cry of "a soldier of fortune, of torture and pain"

After many delays, Megadeth's feverishly anticipated new album, The Sick, the Dying... And the Dead!, is finally on the horizon. Today (June 23rd), the thrash OGs detailed the LP, which is due out September 2nd and released its lead single, the ferocious "We'll Be Back."

The song arrived alongside an action-packed short film, We'll Be Back: Chapter I, that's the first part of a trilogy of videos recounts the origin story of Megadeth's iconic mascot, Vic Rattlehead, telling "a soldier's tale of bravery, personal sacrifice, and the will to survive," as the official synopsis describes it. The narrative is a well-suited companion to the song, which serves as a vicious first-person battle cry from "a soldier of fortune, of torture and pain," on the path of vengeance.
