Last night (November 6th), Metallica played a show that some fans probably would've killed to see. At a 7,000-capacity room in Florida, the thrash pioneers performed a set that exclusively consisted of material from their first two albums, 1983's Kill 'Em All and 1984's Ride the Lightning.

The occasion was a special celebration of the life and legacy of Megaforce Records founder Jon "Jonny Z" Zazula and his wife Marsha Zazula, who died in 2022 and 2021, respectively. Megaforce launched Metallica's career by releasing the band's first two albums before they signed to major label Elektra. The special tribute went down at Hard Rock Live at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, and it looked about as badass as anyone could've imagined.

Metallica played a 16-song setlist that evenly split their first two records down the middle, eight songs from Kill 'Em All and eight from Ride the Lightning. "The Call of Ktulu" was dedicated to late bassist Cliff Burton (whose songwriting and playing helped define Metallica's first few records) and the whole night was a throwback to the fast-and-loud thrash stylings that encompassed Metallica's early material.

Below, see video from the throughout the night, as well as the setlist courtesy of Setlist.fm.
