Motörhead occupy rarefied air in the heavy-music world. Led by the inimitable Lemmy Kilmister, they emerged out of London's early Seventies heavy-psych, space-rock scene (epitomized by Lem's acid-drenched previous band Hawkwind) and quickly secured their mythical reputation as speed-fueled, road-worn rock & roll icons thanks to their tireless touring and god-tier songs like "Ace of Spades," "Overkill" and more.

Motörhead left the world with so much great music that continue to inspire generations of heavy-music fans — including Bakka Larson of Houston black-metal outfit Necrofier and trad-metal act Night Cobra. Below, the singer-guitarist sounds off on his favorite Motörhead song.

"Rock 'n' Roll"

"Rock 'n' Roll" is one of my favorite Motörhead songs. It embraces everything Lemmy stood — and lived — for. He was a one-of-a-kind human and definitely helped shape who I am musically. I thought I could drink like Lemmy at a Motörhead show one time and can't remember the end of the show and woke up at home with my ears ringing the next morning. Lemmy is God.
