Halsey has never been shy about her love for rock music. In the past, the pop singer has collaborated with Bring Me the Horizon, toyed with nu-metal and even embraced pop-punk on Machine Gun Kelly's new album. Now, she's taken the full plunge into the world of industrial music.
The artist who once teamed up with the Chainsmokers for the ubiquitous hit "Closer" has now announced that her new album was produced by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross of Nine Inch Nails. The 26-year-old teased her fourth LP on social media earlier today (June 28th) by cryptically alluding to its supposed title, If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power, and confirming that the band who wrote the other "Closer" song were behind the boards.
So far, she hasn't released any additional details about the project — no release date, artwork, track listing, etc.. However, she did post a short snippet of a song along with the announcement, which features her moody singing voice crooning atop the sort of pulsating noise blasts that Reznor and Ross specialize in.
