In just a couple months, guitar hero Nita Strauss will be embarking on a summer headlining tour in support of her new solo album, The Call of the Void. While Strauss' last album, 2018's Controlled Chaos, was all instrumental, this new one sees the Alice Cooper shredder teaming with a different vocalist on almost every track — David Draiman, Cooper, Alissa White-Gluz, Lzzy Hale and more.
Since she can't possibly take all of those high-profile singers on the road with her, she's recruited a vocalist named Kasey Karlsen to join her onstage during the Summer Storm tour dates.
In a Twitter post introducing Karlsen to her fans, Strauss explained that she chose her based on her ability to handle the many different vocal styles in Strauss' new spread of songs.
"We needed someone fearless and versatile for this tour who could handle tons of different vocal styles," Strauss wrote. "And if you've seen Kasey's videos you already know she can do it all. She is going to destroy these stages and we are beyond excited to have her with us!"
Karlsen has a hefty half-a-million followers on TikTok where she posts vocal covers of everyone from Avenged Sevenfold to Chelsea Grin. She's definitely super talented, so fans of Strauss are surely in for a treat later this summer.
