Rammstein guitarist Richard Kruspe revealed earlier this month that the band would release five videos to accompany their upcoming album, and now they've given fans a peek into the creative process behind those clips via social media. Pictures shared this morning show several "nuns" in full white habit being primped for a shoot, along with shots of frontman Till Lindeman in what appears to be sleeveless vestments, an arrangement of cross-bearing banners and Catholic accoutrements, and Lords of Chaos director and former Bathory drummer Jonas Akerland standing near a robed actor welding a spear.
Akerland is known for his extensive history directing music videos for everyone from Candlemass (1988's "Bewitched") to Lady Gaga (2009's "Paparazzi"). While it's not 100 percent confirmed he's in the director's seat again (though his name is on the clapperboard in the shot of Lindemann) for this Rammstein project, he has worked with the band before several times including the 2009 video for "Ich Tu Dir Weh" and 2011's "Mein Land," as well as the group's controversial concert film Rammstein: Paris.
The band themselves have left plenty to the imagination with their cryptic Facebook caption, "... no fire, but nuns!" They're been similarly secretive about the direction of the next record, though we do know so far that the industrialists recorded with an orchestra and choir, worked hard to change the "dynamic and energy" on the new one, and plan to release the still-untitled LP sometime in April.
