After a grueling year of recovery and regrouping following a laundry list of illnesses, accidents and canceled live dates, Ozzy Osbourne is apparently doing much better — so much so that he's ready to drop his highly anticipated solo album, his first since 2010's Scream, early next year. The singer's wife and manager Sharon recently spoke to Jess Cagle and Julia Cunningham on SiriusXM's The Jess Cagle Show about Ozzy's health, telling the hosts, "He's getting there. You know, he had a very, very bad accident this year, but he's getting there. He's just finished an album, and the album is coming out in January. And he's doing good."
Ozzy's other recent studio endeavor was a guest spot on a Post Malone song, "Take What You Want," that also features rapper Travis Scott. Of that, Sharon relayed: "He's very excited about the duet he did with Post and also Travis Scott. It's doing great. It's at Top 40 radio, and it's climbing up every week. It's doing good."
Sharon added that, between the two projects, making music again has provided a huge boost to Ozzy's morale. The Black Sabbath icon reportedly felt "worthless" during his downtime and repeatedly told his wife, "I want my life back." "Now he's done his album, and it's coming out," she told the hosts, "and everybody's really pumped about it. He's happy — he is."
As planned all along, she also confirmed that Ozzy will make good on the tour dates he was forced to cancel due to his various health issues, and once those are completed, he will retire from touring. Sharon noted the couple have considered the idea of a Las Vegas residency, but she didn't elaborate on whether it's likely to happen.
