The results are in: The rock and metal trophies have been doled out at the 65th annual Grammys. The one and only Ozzy Osbourne has taken home the 2023 Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance category, for the song "Degradation Rules," featuring his Black Sabbath bandmate Tony Iommi. (For those who are new to this, "performance" refers to a single song rather than a full album.) The other acts Ozzy beat for the hardware are Ghost, Megadeth, Turnstile and Muse.

The Prince of Darkness also took home the trophy for Best Rock Album, for Patient Number 9. (Brandi Carlile won the two remaining Rock awards: Song and Performance). Metal, and in this case hardcore, usually aren't represented in the Rock categories, but this year they were, with Ozzy earning a nomination in all three categories and Turnstile being up for Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance.
