PANTERA play first show of 2023, REX BROWN returns: See videos and setlist

Reignited metal titans hit Japan's Loud Park hard

Yesterday (March 25th), Pantera played their first show of 2023, at Intex Osaka in Osaka, the first of two back-to-back performances headlining Japan's Loud Park festival. (The second will take place today at Makuhari Messe in Chiba City near Tokyo.) The concert also notably marked the return of longtime bassist Rex Brown, who had to bow out of the reignited band's final 2022 shows due to contracting COVID-19.

Kicking off their big 2023, which includes dates with Metallica on their M72 World Tour and appearances at pretty much every major U.S. hard-rock and metal festival, Pantera cranked through the go-to setlist of their previous comeback shows. With Brown back joining the rest of the group's current lineup — vocalist Philip Anselmo, Black Label Society shredder Zakk Wylde and Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante — the band was in fine form. Check out the full setlist and fan-filmed video.
