A Perfect Circle's Billy Howerdel Announces New Album, Massive Summer Tour

First solo LP in 14 years is due out June 10th

Earlier this year, A Perfect Circle guitarist Billy Howerdel emerged with his first solo song in 14 years, "Poison Flowers." Now, he's formally announced the album that it will appear on. Titled What Normal Was, the LP marks his second ever solo album and first under his own name, following his 2008 debut under the moniker Ashes Divide. The 10-track opus is due out June 10 via Alchemy Recordings/Rise Records/BMG, and the following day he'll be taking it on the road for a massive summer tour that includes two dates with Puscifer.

The journey begins June 11th in Ventura, CA, and travels all throughout the U.S. — and up into Canada — before wrapping up in Texas on July 20th. He hasn't announced any supporting acts, but obviously his new LP will be what he's most excited to promote. Speaking of which, he's also offered up a new music video for "Poison Flowers," which you can watch above via YouTube.

"This is me stepping back into my early teen self and making the record I would've made if I had the means and the knowledge when I first picked up a guitar—just in 2022," Howerdel said of his time making the album. "It's that moment as a kid when you hear a record, close your eyes, and go somewhere else. That was the time I found my lane, so to speak."

Pre-orders will be available soon, but for now, you can check out its artwork, track listing and the full list of tour dates below.
